Rare 2 bedroom in the Sand Castle on the Esplanade
We don’t have many details on the condition of this condo as it was never really on the market. This rare 2 bedroom oceanfront condo at 615 Esplanade, known as the Sand Castle, just recently closed at a very impressive $1,550,000. As no two bedrooms had sold in a while it would have been tough to know what this was worth……now we know.
The Sand Castle is comprised of a front and rear building with every unit having big views. Only the 5th floor (and 6th to an extent) has blocked views due to the top of the front building. Each building has one bedroom units on every level other than the top…..which happens to be the 4th floor in the front building. Only the top floors of each building offer 2 bedroom units which is why they are so rare (and the fact that folks rarely want to part with them). While we don’t know much about this particular unit….we do know that it had panoramic ocean and beach views so congrats to the buyer.

It was a great month for home sales and especially home prices in Redondo Beach during June.
It was a solid month in terms of the number of homes sold for Redondo Beach real estate with 54 home sales in June compared with 62 in May.
Prices were impressive to say the least! The average “listing” price was $1,594,072 with the average sold price at $1,629,221 meaning that once again homes generally sold above the list price.
The average price per foot of the sold homes was $972 a square foot which was $110 more then in May. Homes that sold averaged only 26 days on market before going pending.
